Creating
an impression as soon as the guests walk in, Hotel Cartagena offers a setting that feels like entering a vast indoor rainforest. The place is vibrant, it’s fun and all that has the jungle-esque design that is trendy.
The flamboyant Latino restaurant has come in place of short-lived Mediterranean restaurant Morah, occupying the 72nd and 73rd floors of JW Marriott Marquis Dubai. The place is transformed, replaced by bold colours and peppy features. The restaurant offers the stunning 360-degree panoramic views out across the city. Hotel Cartagena boasts of some of the best views in Dubai. Brunch is available at a sociable 13:30 and it is advised to book as it possible to that the place fills to secure a space for a couple of weeks.
The
upbeat vibe of the place can be enjoyed if seating is towards a window table. The views are spell-binding, even by daylight, and this spot bring visitors to be ready for the exciting treat. Service is good and the beverages, including sparkling, the prices aren’t very-high as the setting, which is great for the diners. Food is great and as impressive as the location. To enjoy the brunch diners can start with guac and tropical root chips, followed by appetizing, petite mushroom and cheese empanadas, which are full of flavours. The ropa vieja ones, stuffed with braised beef cheek and chipotle, are rich for taste, curls of sweetcorn with shavings of manchego are delicious. Sushi includes spicy tuna rolls and mixed mushroom maki. The sea bass ceviche and tuna including the fish dishes are good. Mains serve braised short rib aside – as lamb chops are well done, tender and delicious. The Trinidadian chicken is served with a tangy guava barbecue sauce.
The afternoon
gives a fun vibe, and dancers move around decked out in bright colours and entertain guests with their moves. Diners can can have the desserts – which are spread out in a golden bird cage. It’s kitsch, it’s fun and it houses some mouth-watering treats, the best includes a passion fruit tres leches cakes. The theme and décor are great and the food is fine. This brunch is ideal for all visitor.
Mrs Buendia inherited this paradise from her father in the 1950’s. The restaurant is an oversized tropical foliage with hanging lanterns, birds in a cage. Creating the magical escapism, the space offers diners a few wondrous hours. Diners are welcome to sit and soak it all in. Cartagena allows the senses to experience a frenzy of euphoria through the cornucopia of dishes – all deliciously eclectic and as enticing. Brunch at Hotel Cartagena is a treat for diners.
