Michelin-starred
Chef Vineet Bhatia has a brand-new restaurant – Indya by Vineet. It is launching on Tuesday January 22 at Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa.
Chef Vineet Bhatia, who was born in Mumbai, is the first Indian chef to have a restaurant receive a Michelin star, and has more than 25 restaurants.
“Indya is an opportunity to have fun with Indian food, to challenge perceptions and introduce new ingredients to age-old dishes,” said chef Vineet. “You could liken it to an expression of my roots and respectfully breathing new life into the food I grew up with”.
Indya
by Vineet is all set to serve “diverse regional food in an unpretentious environment”. The team will be serving more than 70 dishes on the “experimental” menu, showcasing food from East and West.
Dishes at Indya by Vineet start at Dhs40 and the menu will be divided in four sections – from the earth, from the land, from the sea and from the Halwai (sweets), there will be starter, main and pudding format. Dishes include charcoal amritsari fish pakoda with turmeric raita and the daulat aunty’s mutton dhansak, with parsi brown rice.
Indya by Vineet
will seat up to 90 diners, the restaurant will also have an outdoor terrace, too, as well as a mixed drinks bar, and will be where Italian restaurant Ossigeno was located. The restaurant is skillfully decorated with vibrant and lots of colours on rattan chairs and creative murals on the wall.
Dubai has a restaurant – Indego by Vineet at Grosvenor House Dubai in Dubai Marina. This is the second new restaurant for the hotel, as Italian restaurant La Strega opened in December. Indya by Vineet joins Maya, Zengo, Geales, Brasserie 2.0 and Rhodes Twenty10.
