Good news for
fans of party brunch, Candypants’ famed Friday fiesta is being relaunched at a hot new location.
The weekly “Dim Sum Disco” is going to be organised at posh Chinese venue Maiden Shanghai, at the chic FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai hotel. The brunch will welcome guests every week from 13:00 until 14:00, coming in at Dhs395 per head, including MSG-free Chinese food and free-flowing bubbly. The venue will organise a karaoke room for guests to enjoy some music. Serving an à la carte menu featuring signature dishes including Chef Bing’s crispy prawn and sea bass roll as well as organic kung pao chicken.
“The Dim Sum Disco concept is something myself and our Dubai manager Nick [Purvis] have worked on for a while and I really feel it offers something completely different to anything else that’s around right now,” said Candypants’ Ray Chan.
“It’s a boutique take on our original brunch concept that still sits under the Candypants umbrella, showcasing a high end contemporary Chinese menu alongside our famous party atmosphere.
“At Maiden Shanghai we’ll have three floors of both indoor and outdoor space as well as a number of private party pods, a karaoke room and a huge outdoor after brunch terrace, all with amazing views of the Dubai skyline.”
Last week it was announced that Dubai’s most famous party brunch – Candypants – was bowing out of its Friday fixture at XL Dubai. Candypants is a popular global hosts of events in the UK, Marbella and Ibiza.
“It’s been an incredible year already taking the Candypants brand to America and the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 for the first time, along with our weekly events in the UK, Ibiza, Marbella and Dubai as part of our tenth birthday world tour,” added Chan.
“We had a brilliant four years working with Mohammed Habtoor and the team at XL Dubai, building what arguably became Dubai’s most famous party brunch, but I felt it was time for us to start a new chapter in our journey. “Five Palm Jumeirah Dubai is probably one of the most exciting venues in Dubai right now and I can’t wait to be working with them on both a Friday at Maiden Shanghai and a Saturday at The Penthouse.”
Along with this new brunch at Maiden Shanghai, there will be five mega brunches that will be held at different venues across Dubai, from now until next summer. Candypants will also continue with its ladies’ days at The Penthouse and Inner City Zoo nights.
“We are very excited to be strengthening our relationship with the Candypants team and to be adding another unmissable event to FIVE Palm Jumeirah’s experience-led calendar,” said Aloki Batra, CEO of Five Hospitality.
“We’ve had great success with our Candypants Saturday ladies’ day brunch at The Penthouse and feel the collaboration with Maiden Shanghai and Candypants for Dim Sum Disco will provide a unique and exciting brunch offer in the city.”
Maiden Shanghai is open 7 days a week and is packed with guests who like to party at night. Guests can enjoy food, drinks and music, all of which create Maiden Shanghai’s unique ambiance. The cocktail menu is carefully crafted, innovative, using fresh ingredients and premium liqueurs, to present an unusual, oriental-inspired blending. Signature cocktails include Jade Emperor, Fu Xi Oracle, Dragon Saber, Heaven Sword and The Way of the Mandarin.
