Beit Al Khair Society pledges Dh28.5 million to the ’10 million meals’ campaign

Donation are meant to offer 1.5 million meals and over 19,200 food parcels during the holy month of Ramadan. Beit Al Khair Society pledges Dh28.5 million to the ’10 million meals’ campaign! All the financial and in-kind donations are received through their website, SMS, bank transfer and call center.

Beit Al Khair Society announced the donation to support the ’10 million meals’ campaign that aims to distribute food to communities affected by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the UAE.

The Dubai charity’s donation is going to assist in offering 1.5 million meals worth Dh15 million and over 19,200 food parcels worth Dh13.5 millionto low-income individuals and families across the country throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

The ‘10 million meals’ campaign, the UAE’s biggest community campaign is enabling individuals and institutions to make financial and in-kind donations towards offering food support in the form of 10 million meals or food parcels during the holy month of Ramadan to financially distressed people who have lost their income or had pay cuts amid the coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement, Beit Al Khair Society said the ’10 million meals’ campaign emphasizes that safeguarding lives and preserving the human dignity through securing basic life necessities have always been the top priority for UAE leadership. “Such values are manifested in the UAE’s noble humanitarian initiatives that continue to benefit people across the world. Now is the right time to contribute towards the ’10 million meals’ that ensures no one sleeps hungry in the UAE especially during the holy month of Ramadan.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced on Sunday the launch of the ’10 million meals’ campaign to support families and individuals affected by the Covid-19 pandemic that left many facing unemployment and income reductions.

The ’10 million meals’ campaign will be led by his wife Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of UAE Food Bank.

There are four ways to donate: Individuals and entities can make financial or in-kind donations to provide food assistance to people in need as part of the ’10 million meals’ campaign. Donors can purchase a preferred number of meals online at www.10millionmeals.ae to be distributed to disadvantaged individuals and families across the country. They can also donate via SMS (Etisalat and Du) to numbers listed on the website. Donors can make a transfer to ’10 million meals’ campaign bank account at Dubai Islamic Bank with IBAN no.:AE430240001580857000001. For in-kind contributions, donors have the chance to provide packaged or canned food supplies or arrange food parcels for distribution through directly contacting the campaign’s organizing team on the toll-free number 8004006.
