Kids’ storytelling summer camp launched by The Courtyard Playhouse


course will be based around books including The Gruffalo, young thespian in families can join in and release their inner storyteller in this summer camp for kids. Children can go on a magical journey, where they will creatively explore five picture books by the world famous and award-winning children’s author, Julia Donaldson!

With drama,

each child will get to develop their communication skills, learn to work as part of a team, think on the spot and build confidence. Children will be taught and cared for by qualified teachers with a wealth of experience in teaching children of all ages and abilities, in a comfortable, purpose-built improv’ theatre and KHDA licensed training centre; a perfect venue to tread the boards. Kids can discover the exciting world of storytelling and the creative arts live on stage! Each day they will explore a new Julia Donaldson story and it will be the inspiration for the theatre games, mime, role play, art and craft, speech and learning basic stagecraft while having fun!

The course is taught by fully qualified teachers in an improv theatre and KHDA-licensed training centre.

On each day a new book will be explored, and will be the basis for theatre games, mime, role play, art and craft, speech and learning basic stagecraft.

The Courtyard Playhouse is a custom-designed, performing arts space with a maximum capacity of 58 seats and 12 beanbags. They have a 70 seater auditorium, that is centrally located near the Mall of the Emirates and easily accessible from Sheikh Zayed Road. The team looks forward to welcoming everyone to The Courtyard Playhouse that is located just around the corner from Times Square Centre. Visitors can take the service road for Times Square from Sheikh Zayd Road. The Courtyard is on the right, next door to Limetree Cafe and opposite Bounce. It’s a huge grey building with green plants and palm trees at the entrance. Visitors can take the door to the Courtyard Playhouse – a glass door just to the right of the main lobby doors that follow the staircase up to the auditorium.

Parking is available at the front (Sheikh Zayed side) of the Courtyard building, the rear entrance is closed on Fridays and at 22:00 on weekdays.

The course is run by The Courtyard Playhouse in Al Quoz and costs Dhs1,155 per week, or Dhs1,100 with sibling discount.From Dhs1,100.
