A division of Dubai Holding, Sama Dubai initiated the mega project of The Lagoons in 2005 as a part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid City district. The massive development was supposed to feature seven islands adjoined by bridges, including residential and commercial buildings, shopping centres and two skyscrapers. The mega project was later taken over by Emaar in 2013.
The Lagoons was relaunched again, as a collaboration between Dubai Holdings and Emaar Properties with a completely revised plan. Emaar initiated the sub-community of Dubai Creek Harbour, which is a large project set on 1,606 acres of land situated along the banks of the Dubai Creek. The highlighted projects of Dubai Creek Harbour are Dubai Creek Tower and the residential complex of six towers, called Dubai Creek Residences. The Lagoons is an ongoing project that is being developed with the completion of each community at a time, for now, Dubai Creek Harbour is the main focus.
The Lagoons district has a prime location adjacent to Dubai Festival City and Ras Al Khor Road, offering convenient access to the main destination of Dubai such as Downtown Dubai and Business Bay. With a plethora of recreational activities and eateries, it boasts Riviera-style residential projects that pair with the lush green landscapes and the gleaming creek-side at the rims of the district.
Residential properties that are also family-friendly and home to the expected world’s tallest tower: Dubai Creek Tower. Neighbours popular communities like Downtown Dubai, Dubai Festival City and Business Bay. The place offers direct access to Ras Al Khor Road. The Lagoons is situated along the coast of Dubai Creek offering a lifestyle similar to the famous tourist city of Venice. This classic waterfront destination offers a comfortable and relaxed yet vibrant lifestyle. Residents will find many residential buildings here that are built with modern architecture styles. The community is surrounded by green landscapes and is situated close to the water, which sets a tranquil setting. The area also caters to all the requirements of residents, with restaurants and cafes, high-end boutiques and retail and entertainment options.
The main highlight of the community is that it is located close to Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary sits at the shoreline of Dubai Creek Harbour. This protected area is famous for sheltering more than 450 species of animals, including grey herons, kingfishers, eagles and the show-stealing pink flamingos. Residents can observe the bustling wildlife within a short distance from their homes.
Being the main community of The Lagoons, Dubai Creek Harbour is the most popular community for renting and buying properties. It features high-rise residential buildings and villas.
