The Gbemi’s Kitchen in Dubai’s JLT is co-founded by entrepreneur Gbemi Giwa – who is also behind healthy delivery service Catfish. The new restaurant in Cluster R features her Nigerian roots, with interesting dishes.
The bright and authentic artifacts make the interiors give a bright and vibrant feel with wall art starring Nigerian pop culture, with an afrobeat soundtrack while you dine. The menu at the Gbemi’s Kitchen is based around street food such as suya – spicy grilled meat, and bole – grilled planatin. The team has The Swallow 
section that encourages diners to eat with their hands. The popular dishes include pounded yam and efo riro (a spinach stew) with different meats. Their popular dishes include spicy wings, grilled fish and fries, chicken, avocado and mango salad, cobb salad, jerk chicken and pineapple salad, jerk chicken bagel, club sandwich and more. Diners can even prepare their own rice and bowl dishes. And there are also dishes with a Middle Eastern flavours, such as jollof hummus. There are vegan options too.
