Terra Eatery is named after the Latin word for earth and located next to Waitrose on Al Thanya Road, the bistro-style food features premium ingredients at the heart of the gastronomic experience. A trendy venue Terra – this Mediterranean restaurant in Dubai takes things back to basics, with its exceptional rustic structure, natural stone structures and understated décor.
Terra’s founder Rashed Ahmad Mohammed Al Tayer, said: “Nowadays, when you want to have good food in Dubai, people say you have to go to DIFC. The neighbourhood 
concept serves Mediterranean inspired dishes, which lay focus on quality ingredients. Small plates include a beef carpaccio roll, watermelon salad and sweet aubergine croquettes, and large plates provide a selection of wood-fired pizzas and pastas including lobster tagliatelle. Try umami-packed short rib with barley risotto and top mains such as salt-baked sea bass and lamb chops with smoked aubergine and harissa. Don’t forget to have the signature desserts such as a Lotus cheesecake and sticky date pudding. The restaurant has a strong focus on sustainability, diners can choose to sit in the cosy indoor area or out on the terrace surrounded by real trees. The well designed space recreates the atmosphere from a Southern European courtyard.
Terra Eatery is a place designed 
by Bone Studio Scope of work – the furniture and chic installations in Terra embodies a timeless eatery where Bone, the design mastermind creates a unique retreat. The interior space is minimal and reminiscent of a spacious courtyard. The curated garden offers a natural setting away from the streets in the grounded terrace. Interior spaces are interconnected with the trimmed, handpicked greenery that allows diners to have a cosy and private moment during their dining experience.
Stunning five- meter-high entrance glass doors welcomes visitors to the interior dining space from all three facades. The shop faces the east, allowing sharp rays of sunlight to penetrate through the clear glass doors during the brisk hours of the day. The sunlight also trickles with focus on the hues and undulations of the terracotta tiles as well as the clay walls and texured surfaces.
Highlighting 
sandy – natural stones, organic materials, and exotic plants and trees – Terra is set as comfortably into the centre of DIFC as this Umm Suqeim neighbourhood. The unlicensed spot is walk-in only – Terra Eatery puts in emphasis on using locally grown produce. Its rustic farm-to-table-style menu is has Mediterranean influences throughout.
