The interior of Taverna is inspired by modern Greek living, with white washed walls, attractive woodwork, neutral tones and various accents of flecked copper.
Headed by Greek Chef Theo Rouvas, the large kitchen promises a traditional taste of Greece, bringing focus on fresh, local seafood, hand selected and cooked to each diner’s preference. Diners can see a charcoal grill that is visible from the walkway that prepares meat cuts the rustic way.

Bringing focus back to the city’s tourist heartlands, Taverna is occupying the Souk Madinat Jumeirah location that previously was taken by Left Bank. Tables are setup and spread out across prime real estate on the edge of the complex’s waterways. The indoor setting offers a pleasant and relaxing combination of light, earthy tones and attractive stone, and spindle chairs.
Service is good and staff is happy to answer questions about the food served. 
Their comprehensive menu includes the spinach pie salad that is superb. It is packed with baby leaves and chopped dill, tossed in crumbled feta and the garnishing is with a couple of filo squares that is light, fresh and classic. Diners can relish fried calamari, chargrilled octopus, chicken souvlaki and tiger prawns, these are perfectly cooked. A nice dessert spread, syrupy orange cakes are served with vanilla ice cream.
