and coffee aficionados can increase their knowledge about their favourite drinks at a Speciality Tea and Coffee Cupping hosted at Raw Coffee Company. The popular coffeehouse is collaborating with Dubai-based tea room AVANTCHA Tea for an interactive learning and tasting session.
Kim Thomspon, co-creator of Raw Coffee Company, and Marina Zbinden, co-founder of AVANTCHA Tea, will be cupping five teas and coffees for this session. They will guide visitors through the flavour profile of each drink, describing their similarities and sharing how experts taste, measure and rate quality products. This is a delicious and informative session to attend alone or with company.
Matt Toogood, the 
director of Raw Coffee Company and the current UAE barista champion run Raw with Kim Thompson, who founded the company in 2007. The duo source good-quality coffee in the UAE and she opened a roastery in Dubai Investment Park and a year later shifted premises to set up shop in Dubai Garden Centre, where Raw served an ethically produced, premium coffee. The Raw café is located inside The Emirates Academy Of Hospitality Management, opposite Wild Wadi Water Park.
The Al Quoz roastery serves light bites and breakfast such as frittatas, pancakes, muesli, fruit and granola. Raw is presently located in a spacious, converted warehouse in Al Quoz. The large space has a lot more room for roasting, as well as enough space for people to relax. Visitors can sample their drinks and enjoy watching the talented team of baristas. 
The location gives an industrial New York-style loft look. The process of making great coffee as being “a little bit of science, a little bit of art and a little bit of magic”. The Al Quoz area offers an espresso bar, a brew bar, coffee sacks, a mezzanine fitted out with comfy sofas soothing music and wifi. The company offers an espresso based menu and their brew bar uses Siphons, V60’s, Cemex, and Aeropress, to prepare beautiful single origin brewed coffee. The team at Raw are approachable and knowledgeable – they are happy to help clients find a coffee that they love.
