La Mer is a beach destination, that ingeniously combines upscale living with distinguishing retail and leisure attractions. La Mer integrated outdoor living environment along with attractive beach activities. The project also launches an assortment of retail and F&B concepts, some of which mark their foray into Dubai, one of which is SMK.
SMK is famous for serving up slow-cooked meat smoked over English oak, along with homemade rubs to season the cuts. The cooking process is by smoking, rather than direct grilling, which ensures the meat becomes tender and succulent.
The signature dish from SMK is the Brisket Bun, served with pickled red chilli, which adds a fruity heat to the tender brisket, served in a specially baked bun, while those that prefer a little more meat, can opt for the dry aged beef ribs, topped off with pickled red chilli.
The team at SMK have been trained at London’s Smokestak, under the tutelage of David Carter, an innovator in this culinary field. Luke Tully will take over the reins at SMK Dubai, after working with Carter for the last three years.
The space at La Mer has an inviting outdoor seating area, through a smart and simple design space. The place has natural and minimal interior, with simple furnishings and urban in look and feel. Smoked meat, the best halal USDA certified beef in the market is served here. SMK serves not roasted, broiled, grilled or seared, it’s smoked slowly over English oak, which allows the meat to tenderise and keeps it succulent.
Diners are welcome to La Mer, Dubai’s latest ‘must visit’ destination and relish some smoked meat.
