Burj Al Arab Jumeirah launched this brand-new pop-up beach experience and dining destination called SAL, that opened on Thursday September 24.
SAL is on The Terrace of the world-famous Burj Al Arab, boasting stunning views over the 100m infinity pool, the sail-shaped hotel itself, out to sea and across Dubai’s coastline. This is a “chic new lifestyle experience” and offers a “refined yet laid-back and fun atmosphere” with a sophisticated vibe. This will be open daily from 12:30 until 23:00, and in day the dress code is casual, while it’s sophisticated at night, and bookings are essential. Meanwhile you can also go for the luxury cabana option, which includes welcome fruit and a bottle of grape, for Dhs900 for two people during the week and Dhs1100 at the weekend. The menu boasts fresh fish and seafood dishes from chef Roberto Rispoli, head chef of Shimmers, with dishes inspired by the Iberian Peninsula in Spain and Portugal. Dishes are designed to share, and with the pleasant weather at this dining hotspot over the winter.
SAL means salt in Spanish and Portuguese and “pays homage to the sea”. The Terrace set out into the Arabian Gulf, the theme is reflected in the menu as the SALs’s catch of the day can be served baked in sea salt. Other dishes on the menu include prawns in roasted tomato sauce or wild crab, homemade trenette pasta with king crab, sea bream isolana, sea salt-crusted sea bass – as well as a range of desserts from Burj Al Arab’s pastry chefs. There’s also a specially curated grape list.
Guests will arrive at the entrance of the iconic hotel before taking a buggy ride to the new poolside location. There are two pools to choose from, plus air-conditioned cabanas as well as sunbeds on the beach area. Enjoy a lavish lunch and a pool day. Burj Al Arab has unveiled Sal, a new pop-up restaurant, with dining packages that include pool and beach access. With stylish decor – SAL has a nautical motif running throughout, with rope details, sandy hues, and the pop of colour courtesy of plump cushions. The dining room is located on the hotel’s poolside terrace, with views of the Arabian Sea. There’s a dessert trolley, with pretty pastries from the Burj Al Arab kitchens.

In addition, and as a complement to their meal, diners can explore a specially curated grape list for a truly exceptional dining experience.
