The holy month of Ramadan is one of the most significant and insightful times in the Islamic calendar and commemorates the revelation of the Holy Quran.
Ramadan is an important month in the Islamic calendar and in Dubai, the time is marked by a host of Ramadan-related activities. The Dubai Government organises several events during the month and the businesses strive for remarkable sales.

Emiratis follow traditions and are known for their hospitality, which is further apparent during this month as Iftars are hosted across Dubai.
Residents of diverse nationalities come together to share the spirit of Ramadan. The holy month of Ramadan also include a number of educational cultural activities that intents to teach the public all about the month of Ramadan. It is also about how to conduct one’s self during this holy month. There are the annual Holy Quran recital competitions that are organized for students and adults with the winners earning cash prizes and more.
Scheduled activities highlight on the spiritual aspect of this occasion such as the Ramadan Night Market which is open into the early morning hours and offers treats for shoppers and many dining options. The annual Ramadan Majlis offers some of the premium Arabian cuisine after Iftar every night, throughout the night during the month of Ramadan.
Dubai Ramadan Charity Campaigns
Keeping up with the preparations for the holy month, the Dubai Charity Association has launched its Ramadan charity campaign, anticipating to reach out to thousands of needy families in the Gulf emirate and abroad.
“The campaign, being organized under the slogan ‘Ramadan Al Khair (welfare), includes distribution of Ramadan ration, iftar meals for the fasting, Zakat (alm) Al Fitr, Zakat in money and Eid gifts of clothes,” Ahmed Mohammed Mismar, secretary-general of the association, told a news conference recently.
According to Mismar, the organization is looking forward to raising Dh25 million to provide special programs and projects to the needy families inside and outside the UAE.
“Launching the annual Ramadan campaign is to keep in touch with the philanthropists who will be encouraged to support the poor and needy through the association’s programs and projects inside and outside the country,” Mismar said praising the Dubai Islamic Humanitarian Foundation of Dubai Islamic Bank and Majid Al Futaim Charity Foundation.
