Nando S

With a

few branches in UAE and around the globe, Nando’s is a famous chicken chain-restaurant. Designed with poultry cartoons and quirky slogans the restaurant offers a relentlessly vivacious atmosphere that can cheer diners of all ages.

Nando’s take their chicken very seriously and the chain’s big thing is its ‘world famous’ peri-peri sauce. The spice levels range in intensity from mild lemon-and-herb to screamingly hot chili variant. Diners can find the menu with chicken all the way. A chicken espetada makes a great choice, with chunks of moist, crisp, peri-peri chicken on a skewer over roasted vegetables. It’s succulent, perfectly cooked and totally delicious. They also serve the chicken breast burger, which has a natural texture, rather than processed feel, and is served in a crispy, fresh bun.

They serve fries too, that are popular and perfect. Overall, this creates a cut above the average chicken joint and is worthy visit for the taste-buds. Serving Portuguese cuisine, it features authentic preparations with the facilities of takeaway.

The story of Nando’s began hundreds of years ago with the first Portuguese explorers who got out to sail for the East looking for the legendary spice route. They landed on the shores and discovered the African Bird’s Eye Chilli or as we know it, PERi-PERi. After years later, Nando’s restaurants came up with delicious sauces and their world-famous grocery range around the globe. One afternoon in 1987, two friends were having lunch at a humble

Portuguese eatery and they decided to share it. PERi-PERi has travelled a journey – from Rosettenville to the world. Their name Nando’s originates from Fernando, the name of one of the founders of the chain – Fernando Duarte. He and a friend, Robert Brozin, bought a restaurant called Chickenland in Rosettenville, near Johannesburg in 1987. This became the first Nando’s restaurant, which incorporated influences by former Portuguese colonists from Mozambique, many of whom had settled on the south-eastern side of Johannesburg. As a result, Nando’s is sometimes still referred to as Nando’s Chickenland.

The Nando’s way is to guarantee to find, besides their legendary chicken, is a warm South African welcome and a smile to make people feel at home.

Each one of their restaurants has its own unique design, but they all have earthy textures and colours that remind people of their sunny Afro-Portuguese roots and feature original, local South African art. Their unique design features make it the perfect place to relish and enjoy the best food people have ever tasted. Afro-Luso beats and friendly service and enhances the positive vibe. The team has set the eating experience on fire and people love to join their table for the love of PERi-PERi, it’s for all to enjoy!
