away above – this Mexican restaurant and bar La Carnita, Cartel has a limited-capacity nightclub with exclusive clientele and cool vibes. This cosy and intimate nightspot promises authentic speakeasy feel – and a DJ spinning from within a confessional booth. Cartel is open to accommodate a variety of events for groups ranging up to 80 guests, with social distancing rules in place, offering a casual setting for corporate events or private parties. This Mexican restaurant welcomes all in the space that previously held grape bar and post-brunch party spot Ynot. At present this spot is prefect for old-school hip-hop. Famous brand La Carnita hails from Canada, where it has four locations in Toronto. They also have branches in Baltimore and Winnipeg. After visiting the very first La Carnita in Toronto, Hamdan Al-Khafaji, Founder of La Carnita DXB was keen to bring it to Dubai. With the walls covered in incredible street art, the vibe of the place, the food – everything is creative and contemporary.
La Carnita 
began its journey as an inaugural pop-up where artwork was sold and tacos were given away for free. The food served here is a treat for all diners. Foodies will relish dishes such as Mexican meatballs with ancho and guajillo chilli and queso fresco, ancho barbecue wings and a range of tacos from chorizo to cod. One must keep space for desserts, mouth watering treats include tres leches cake and churros.
Designer, Ian Rydberg was in Dubai to ensure the newest location lives up to expectations in terms of décor. La Carnita DXB in InterContinental Dubai Marina joins other popular spots in the hotel, including Marina Social from British Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton – which is a reputed eatery. The InterContinental Dubai Marina also features all-day dining restaurant Accents, which hosts a popular party brunch every Friday and juniper bar Ginter.
