restaurant is a concept that comes from the TV chef behind Michelin-starred Junoon. Kinara by Vikas Khanna is a unique space that takes clients on a journey of the senses.
Vikas Khanna needs no introduction, he is the world-famous chef who was one of the first Indian chefs to receive a Michelin star for his New York restaurant Junoon for six consecutive years since 2011. Dubai foodies can relish Vikas Khanna’s latest culinary venture Kinara that has now opened its doors in Dubai. Said to offer a ‘journey of the senses and an explosion of flavour’, Kinara (which means the shore or the bank) is located at the new JA Lake View Hotel.
With spices displayed at the entrance, the enticing aromas of the food offers as they move through the space. Set up within the main restaurant area, a Spice Market display provides the opportunity to learn about the different functions and benefits of each ingredient used in the cuisine. The kitchen entice the senses, creating a visual connection between the menu and its preparation.
The 
restaurant offers up an approachable and affordable homage to the Indian home cooking but with a unique twist, of course. Highlights on the menu include shahi paneer with a green mango reduction and a kumquat-ginger marmalade, sesame-crusted scallops with a coconut-mango sauce and brown butter, tandoori lamp chop with sweet potato mash and green papaya chutney and a braised chicken biriyani with berries and yoghurt cucumber dip. Meanwhile, desserts include a saffron-rose pudding with rose petal jam, cardamom, a banana-caramel sauce and candied nuts and pomegranate poached pears with saffron cream and coconut ice cream.
Kinara is a stylish-yet-causal restaurant that can seat up to 180 diners and serves a chic and modern take on traditional Indian cuisine, inspired from the richly diverse regions of India and South Asia.
