Summers are here and holiday season coupled with Ramadan and Eid shopping are keeping people busy. Many jewellery outlets in the UAE are attracting customers with appealing offers. Right from kilos of gold and exclusive luxury cars to free home appliances, there is a lot of choice with customers this time of year.
“Before people go on summer holidays they expect offers and most of them buy gold. There are many new Indian jewellers that have recently entered the UAE market and they are trying to attract maximum buyers. Customs restrictions are there but people are taking their chance,” said Tomy Joseph, General Manager Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group.
GRT Jewellers is offering 1 kg gold, 10 diamond necklace sets, 200 return air tickets for 100 winning couples, according to G Rajendran, Director of GRT Jewellers, who added, “we will be opening more branches in the UAE and other Gulf countries market.”
Kalyan Jewellers is proposing a free trolley bag and has associated with UAE Exchange in its Money Majlis scheme this holy month to offer six kg gold as prize money to remitters. The UAE Exchange campaign commenced from June 15 and will run until July 29, 2015, said Varghese Mathew, Country Head, UAE Exchange UAE.
Ramesh Kalyanaraman, Executive Director, Marketing, Kalyan Jewellers said: “For Kalyan Jewellers customers are always the epicentre of our initiatives. The Money Majlis in conjunction with UAE Exchange is another step in that direction.”
“To be eligible for the contest, a customer has to remit twice during the campaign period at any of the UAE Exchange branches at UAE. Customers will be entitled to a raffle coupon that will give them the chance to win 1gm, 10gms, 100gms and 1kg gold and this coupon can be redeemed at any Kalyan Jewellers showroom across the UAE,” he added.
The winners for Money Majlis will be publicized through an electronic draw on August 23, 2015. Along with scratch-and-win coupons will offer one gram gold coins and discounts.
Joyalukkas is all set to offer 25 Audi cars, 3kgs of gold and low making charges to attract customers. Any customer buying jewellery worth Dh500 can avail the opportunity a chance to drive away in a brand new Audi car and win up to 3 kgs of gold.
“This year we are offering 12 Audi cars. Every year we do summer promotion targeting our global customer base spread in different countries. This time, summer vacation coincides with Ramadan and Eid, making these two months very special season,” said Jibin Toms John, Marketing Manager, Joyalukkas Group.
A few other Indian jewellery brands such as Josco are looking to open shop in the UAE, according to Joseph.
Dubai, the city of gold, is the fastest emerging gold centre in the world. Dubai claims the highest per capita consumption of the yellow metal – guaranteeing the interest in gold continues to remain unaffected due to market fluctuations – for the residents as well as tourists of the city.
