Fujiya welcomes all to their second outlet in Dubai after completing three successful years at Millennium Airport Hotel Garhoud. The new branch is at Swissotel Al Murooj in Dubai’s Downtown area. After opening in Garhoud, the Izakaya eatery has been visited by foodies. Fujiya is known for a laidback atmosphere and the new outlet is a bar and restaurant concept.
Director Akio Hayakawa is excited to welcome diners at Fujiya Downtown as it offers everything the original Fujiya shares, and more. The favourite menu items will be available in the new branch along with seasonal and special Japanese items. The team will serve dishes such as yakitori chicken cooked over a charcoal barbecue.
The team will be open to offer weekday happy hour and a number of beverage items. Hayakawa is a former sumo wrestler and has been a part of the sport since he was six years old. He also took over the duties of being the captain of Tokyo’s Meiji University Sumo Team. After he suffered an accident, his sumo career was stalled, he opened his own izakaya in Tokyo in 2013. It served ‘chanko-nabe’, a type of stew very popular among sumo wrestlers.
Outdoor seating is open at the newly opened Fujiya Downtown branch, so plan a meal this winter, as the team is ready to welcome all to dine al fresco. The restaurant setting is inviting with palm trees and ponds giving you a resort-like feel. The entire vibe at Fujiya promises to be casual, as in the original branch.
Fujiya restaurant aims to provide authentic, affordable food. This is a great place to try Sushi and Japanese barbecue in Downtown Dubai.
