Now in
its 12th edition, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, is the region’s largest celebration of the written and spoken word. The fair places homegrown talent centre stage and offers UAE fans the chance to interact with world-famous authors, participate in literary debates and workshops, and contribute in competitions.
This year’s Emirates Airline Festival of Literature festival is all set to include sessions and meet-and-greet opening with a variety of authors, reporters, explorers and other personalities including HE Jamal bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, Sir Chris Bonington, an explorer who summited Mt. Everest, and Hazzaa Al Mansoori, the first Emirati to travel to space.

family fun to one-of-a-kind experiences, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is an unmissable event for dedicated book enthusiasts. The Festival has a strong educational responsibility, through its Education Day, its Workshop programme and the close ties to schools developed through the Fringe Festival activities. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE, has announced his vision of eradicating illiteracy from the Arab World.
With the mega event, more than 75% of visitors felt they were more likely to pick up a book and read after attending the Festival. This alone is a massive endorsement of the power of a literary Festival 
to help foster a love of reading and thereby, over time, create a reading culture. There are more than 300 author sessions, workshops, masterclasses, feature events, book signings, the Fringe Festival, Foundation Friends, children’s activities – including the story corners and panel discussions.
The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature will return to Dubai to reignite passion for quality prose and verse.
