Dubai Watch Week is a global event devoted to the craftsmanship and invention in the watch industry. The first edition of the event was held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority during October 2015.
It is known as a noteworthy meeting point for the watch industry by forming an friendly platform for collectors, brands, watchmakers and the members of the media to interact and share knowledge. The main objective of the event is to promote and bring awareness on behalf of the industry and to instruct the public on the legacy of the luxury watch sector.
Dubai Watch Week will connect Dubai and the international watch community by providing visitors with an extensive variety of topics through devoted platforms such as exhibitions, master classes and forums that will bring together some of the most famous watch icons from across the world. This unique exhibition highlights the beauty and intricacy of many watch movements and complications. Dubai Watch Week in partnership with Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and is going to host a unique exhibition that is focused on movements and complications. The objective of the exhibition is to highlight the beauty and intricacy involved in the creation of a number of renowned horological movements such as tourbillons, perpetual calendars and chronographs. The exhibition will also provide brands with the opportunity to showcase the extent of their complications and present their exceptional timepieces along with a sample of the complication and movements that best represents the brand. The aim of this exhibition is to engage the clients and to give visitors a better understanding of the value of complications through each brand’s perspective. The upcoming second edition of the event will focus on “Masters of Time”, by showcasing the pinnacle of watchmaking achievement through several exhibitions, workshops, watchmaking master classes, forums and VIP events that will take place at the Dubai International Financial Centre and The Dubai Mall.
The GPHG 2016 winning watches will be on display during the second edition of Dubai Watch Week. Presented by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the only globally recognized independent international awards for excellence in watchmaking, the “Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève” (GPHG) made its inaugural visit to Dubai in 2013, with a subsequent visit organized during the first edition of Dubai Watch Week.
