The Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC) will reveal itself for the first time at the 66th Annual Cannes International Film Festival in France.
The Dubai film industry, DFTC will join Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) and Dubai Studio City in the UAE pavilion and showcase the Dubai film industry’s full offerings at Cannes, from premiere shooting locations to cutting-edge production infrastructure and distribution.
The Cannes International Film Festival is one of the most prominent and famous film festivals in the world. Each year they promote the expansion of the ability of filmmaking in all its forms, while encouragement and maintaining a spirit of cooperation among filmmaking nations.
Dubai Film & TV Commission has decided to provide better exposure to Dubai talent in the international film scene. DFTC will sponsor Abdulla Al Kaabi, an Emirati director this year. The young filmmaker has got critical acclaim for his first award-winning short film – The Philosopher.
