Dubai 
Municipality Museum is one of Dubai’s precious heritage sites. It has significant historical value since it documents the Dubai Municipality’s foundation, growth, development, and achievements. The building itself is a landmark with a privileged location at the centre of the old Deira Market next to the Creek.
Dubai Municipality Museum was established in 1957. It consisted of a ground floor which also included a few trade shops. Later on, an upper floor was added and was the meant for housing for traders. It is known as “wakalah” or “Khan”. The offices of the Dubai Municipality were moved to this building that same year and it remained as Municipality headquarters until 1964. Dubai Municipality administration then moved to a new building on Al Maktoum Road.
In 1999
, the Architectural Heritage and Antiquities Department in Dubai Municipality restored the building and transformed it into a museum showcasing the Municipality’s history. It was then officially inaugurated in 2006. The museum has 4 main sections including Dubai Municipality Administration offices, Municipal Council Hall, Dubai Municipality Projects Hall and Organizational Structure Hall.
These sections represent a special platform that summarizes the history of Dubai Municipality through a variety of documents, publications, presentations, paintings and photos, such as: Publications and documents narrating the history of Dubai Municipality’s establishment, the names of Director Generals who have run the Municipality and the duration of their mandate

Showcasing 
a presentation that documents Dubai Municipality’s areas of specialty and the state of its administrative development. This state-of-the-art documentary recounts the history of the Dubai Municipality Paintings summarize the public projects of Dubai Municipality and its services and achievements documentation of local orders and organizational administrative resolutions.
