Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) is an annual celebration of all things fitness and wellness. The initiative challenges everyone and cultivates fitness-focused mindsets but also inspires Dubai’s residents to work towards a common goal of maintaining healthier, active lifestyles in the long run.
Two dedicated Fitness Villages at Kite Beach and Festival City Mall were open daily, recording 285,000 visitors and residents of all ages to participate in a variety of activations, programming and classes. 11 Fitness Hubs were seen throughout the city, offering free classes and activities to various communities, while the City is a Gym activation offered unique workout plans in 30 popular locations across Dubai. The DFC website’s Find Your 30 portal enabled those wishing to learn about fitness to follow virtual workouts from the comfort of their home.
Dubai Fitness Challenge was filled with over 13,000 classes and activities, from community runs to mass yoga gatherings to triathlons in the Hatta hills and on the Palm Jumeirah. No matter the age or ability, there were events catering to everyone in the city. Fitness star Joe Wicks was leading the region’s largest ever HIIT class at Skydive Dubai, while WWE® Superstar Becky Lynch® led a session at the Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital. History was made as 70,000 people ran their way down Sheikh Zayed Road, which was closed specially for the occasion.
DFC is accessible with the Dubai Fitness App, which helps people track their progress both over the 30 days of the challenge and during the rest of the year.
