Dubai Design Week is the region’s largest creative festival reflecting Dubai’s position as the design capital of the Middle East. The event takes place from 9-14 November, offering hundreds of showcases covering design across a range of disciplines including architecture, product, furniture and interiors.
The upcoming edition refocuses the spotlight on the creative community, inviting local and regional talent to reconsider and rewrite how we will live in a post-pandemic world. The festival makes room for more input by emerging, homegrown talent, including open calls for various design disciplines to participate in the 2020 programme.
Major events include the leading trade fair, Downtown Design, where brands from near and far showcase limited-edition creations. The Global Grad Show displays works from 100 of the most innovative universities in the world, and finally, Abwab curates projects celebrating original design from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Abwab has even invited creatives from the MENA region to submit proposals for innovative concepts for an architectural pavilion that would be located at the heart of the district.
