Air shows are a spectator’s goldmine and a flyer’s moment in the sun. And what justifies this better than Middle East’s largest annual aerospace event The Dubai Air Show, which is around the corner yet again.
Last year’s event grossed 960 exhibitors from 50 countries, 56,548 trade visitors (to be precise), and witnessed dealings worth a whopping $68 billion. This year, the official organisers F&E Aerospace are forecasting the event to the largest in 26 years.
Here, aviation experts from several countries display their latest technology, including decadent private charters, intelligent navigation systems and a macho breed of helicopters.
The event that started as a small civil aviation trade show in 1986, and gradually grew its military and commercial segments and in 2007, the show’s dealings touched the $155 billion figure, the highest for any global aviation event thus far. Today, it has gone on to become a global event the world awaits with bated breath.
So much to look up to, quite literally!
