Demon Duck restaurant is a product of the superb creativity and cooking expertise of UK-born Hong Kong- Canadian chef and television personality Alvin Leung. This self-trained chef is the owner of Bo Innovation restaurant in Hong Kong, which has two Michelin stars, while Bo London has one. In addition, Chef Alvin Leung is also the man behind Forbidden Duck restaurants in Hong Kong and Singapore. And on March 21, 2022, Asia’s most notorious chef and judge of Master Chef Canada announced the opening of his first-ever restaurant in the UAE, The Demon Duck, located in Caesars Palace Dubai, Bluewaters’ famous luxury shopping and fine dining destination.
Demon Duck restaurant welcomes its guest with eccentric, quirky depictions of duck art by Hong Kong photographer Mark Chung and playful graffiti and Middle Eastern-inspired mosaic patterns on crockery by Monica Tsang. Diners can choose between the outdoor garden terrace or a stylishly modern indoor dining space to experience electrifying dining galore.
Dubai is one of the cities in the Middle East that are open to international cuisine and tourism, and it is an excellent opportunity for exposure in introducing Chinese food. Moreover, there are a lot of Chinese, too, who are touring the world and visiting Dubai. The chef added that it’s not his first time being offered to open a restaurant in UAE. The dream turned into reality only when Caesars Palace Bluewaters Dubai regional president Tony Anthony Costa agreed to collaborate.
Menu
Duck is a very versatile dish. Food experts compared it to a beefy chicken. A popular way of cooking is slow-roast, braised or steam. However, creativity is boundless to someone who has a passion for it. The Demon chef himself shared that there are many ways of preparing it. Duck tartare, crispy duck and aged Peking duck are just some. In Demon Duck restaurant. Guests can enjoy the following as starters: Chop chop suey- Asian citrus dressing, demon hummus-crispy duck, sweet & spicy pepper hummus, and edamame hummus, seaweed. Its bang bang chicken-tangy & sour sauce are also popular. Same as the soft crab spring roll-xo sauce. Wasabi Shrimp on a toast- tobiko, wasabi mayo, and mango salad are must-try. Duck lettuce wraps: Arabic, Original, Korean, French, and Singaporean are best sellers too.
Chef Leung sees ingredients as textures and taste rather than individual entities and seasoning as a combination of several flavours. So rather than sticking to one favourite, the restaurant prepared a mixture of flavours such as hot and sour, sweet and sour, or salty and bitter. Diners can try wagyu short rib gyoza-black truffle, spicy mayo, Hot & sour lobster, vegetable hot & sour and chicken & sweetcorn soup. Please click here to view Demon Duck by Alvin Leung’s full menu.
