In 2004, Bill Pryor and his sister Alex Klemmer made a decision to set up one of the first independent cycling studios in the country in their Boston neighborhood. Both Bill and Alex recognized that there were three major ingredients to a good indoor cycling experience: great instructors, great music, and a great environment. They opened doors of their first dedicated studio a year later and have been perfecting their high-energy, cycling- focused concept ever since. After more than a decade later, Pryor and Klemmer have partnered with various fitness enthusiasts to offer others to experience and benefit from the CycleBar experience.

Riders are instructed not to ride on an empty stomach, so they recommend to hydrate with plenty of water and a light snack. The staff suggests to wear a comfortable tank top or t-shirt and form-fitting shorts or pants. The institute have plenty of CycleBar apparel in the studio, too. Before first ride, people need to sign a waiver. Those who are under 18, need to get one signed by a parent IN PERSON. 
All members most arrive at the studio 10-15 minutes before the ride, so the team can give a tour of the studio, outfit with appropriate shoes, and help adjust bike. At CycleBar, they take care of every requirement, so all the clients need to do is show up, clip in, and ride. They provide shoes for FREE—along with a complimentary water bottle and snacks. Their bikes are compatible with SPD shoes. Along with lockers that have coded keypads for easy access and safe storage for all belongings. They provide a locker room, hair ties, wet clothing bags, and other toiletries for clients to use.
