Dubai is a cultural hub that hosts a number of visual arts galleries, vibrant concerts and musical events, and the biggest art fair in the region. New theatre performance welcomes babies and toddlers. Enjoy games by HIBA Art Project in Dubai.
If your children like to do colouring, dancing, and put up a show, then this event is for you. HIBA Art Project has announced the dates for its new theatre piece ‘Colourful Games’, created especially for children between six and 36 months.
One of the first performances of its kind to reach the UAE, Colourful Games is an opportunity to expose tykes to culture, dance, and a social environment. Colourful Games is a dance performance in which the baby-and-toddler audience is encouraged to have fun and learn by watching and reacting. With music, a dancer shows children different ways to move: sit, jump, kick, grasp, and drop.
The initiative presents a COVID-19 safe environment for children to enjoy and follow the dancer’s movements and perform their own steps, leading to their first dance experiences. Choreographer Birutė Banevičiūtė has created more than 20 performances for children. It is being performed by Dansema Dance Theatre and is supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
The show will take place at Sima Performing Arts on Friday June 11 and Saturday June 12. Tickets start at Dhs87 per person and the performance lasts for 40 minutes. Sima Performing Arts is located at Alserkal Avenue, Warehouse 38. Show timings are at 11:00 and 16:00 on both days.
With all the passion for the art and love of dance, the HIBA Art Project initiative helps to speed up this process by promoting dance as an art form in Dubai, place it on the cultural map of the city and imprint it as an integral cultural experience in the lives of society.
HIBA Art Project strives to establish the art form of dance in the cultural landscape of Dubai. HIBA Art Project creates a framework that enables dance to become an integral part of the city’s cultural life by nurturing talent, presenting artistic works and using dance as a tool for cultural development and social cohesion.
The HIBA initiative encompasses elements such as: the idealistic aspiration, the connection to Arab daily life and a personal connection to the founders.
