Story
Clay offers a beautiful and heartwarming story to the world. The term Nikkei is associated with the Japanese diaspora. It refers to those of Japanese ancestry who choose to live outside Japan. Sometime in the twentieth century, the Japanese heard about Peru. A land blessed with rich soil and a perfect climate. Enticed with an abundance of mountains and sea, the Japanese arrived hopeful and exhausted.

As Peru welcomed them and their relationship began, the discovery of ingredients similar to Nikkei also took place. Aji peppers, Andean potato met miso, soy, wasabi, and fresh fish marinated in citrus. As time goes by, Peru now is home to one of the largest Nikkei communities in the world. Nikkei then found itself a new meaning. That is a cuisine that emerged from distinct cultures, enriched by years of experimentation, collaboration, and expression.
