Carnival by Tresind, A Fun Twist on Indian Favourites in Dubai

by DubaiCity Author

In a city filled to the brim with Indian food, Carnival by Tresind manages to do something remarkable: go beyond the F&B buzzwords and deliver a truly unique experience that caters to die-hard lovers of traditional cuisine and demanding modern connoisseurs. Carnival by Tresind is known for catering to myriad cultures flaunting the bustling corporate hub of DIFC, Dubai. The dining experience in Carnival by Tresind celebrates modern Indian cuisine. It is a gastronomic fiesta that pushes boundaries to transcend into a nostalgic culinary experience, taking you back to the days of yore.

The restaurant is located in Burj Dammam. It is the second local venture from Passion F&B and its veteran founder, Bhupender Nath, who has made it his mission to bring out the playful and fun side of cuisine, which has often been described as ‘heavy’ and ‘boring’. With Carnival by Tresind, he has succeeded. The vibrant interior of the restaurant is matched by a menu of reimagined modern Indian street food that is innovative, a creative spectacle for the eyes and tastebuds that embraces the molecular gastronomy trend.

The venue itself, at first glance, may seem a little dark. However, it soon grows like a magical place especially when guests are seated in one of the restaurant’s tiny and intimate little corners or covered pod-like tables that are perfect for a romantic evening. Even the simulated foliage, which looks a bit like a forest that has been devastated by a fire, adds a unique element to the scenery. Carnival by Tresind’s menu constantly evolves every season, each of which remains true to India’s cuisine but has a distinctive thematic twist. Standout dishes include the Pondicherry fish curry, the ‘Jungle Book’ – slow-cooked lamb mince with green peas – and a fish tajine comprising seabass curry, preserved lemon and delicious Kalamata olives. According to a review, “My favourite dishes are the chicken momos and fish tajine (a fish curry made of preserved lemon and kalamata olives), but literally, everything is delicious.” Please click here to view the complete menu of Carnival by Tresind.

The restaurant is low-lit with a stunning interior, a creative wonderland littered with quirky details and accessories, and a visionary experience that embraces so many ideas that you don’t know where to look. Brown tones are offset by the aforementioned gold-coloured trees that act as dividers between the different seating areas. A closer look reveals tiny colourful kites randomly strewn across the trees. It makes a perfect venue for catching up with friends and colleagues over a glass of champagne or cocktails. Overall, the cuisine, drinks and decor at Carnival are imaginative, the presentation oozes the wow factor, whether it’s a starter or a mocktail, a dramatic dessert or a flaming cocktail, and the attention to detail is just captivating. It’s a dining experience celebrating ancient Indian traditions and culture, making it stand out from the rest.
