Located 
at Mushref Park – AlThuraya Astronomy center is the first of its kind in the city of Dubai has many cultural, educational and recreational goals. An attraction in the region, AlThuraya Astronomy center has the main building consisting of ground floor and first and second floors.
The ground floor consists of entrance hall and reception, multi-purpose hall, display area, cafeteria, shops, stores and other services. The first floor consists of display hall, two lecture halls, administration rooms, stores, and other services. Second floor consists of astronomical observation lounge (radius 5m) and its services. It has general site work and infrastructure work, landscape work. Dubai Astronomy Group has a built-up area of 1,675 Square Meters and the project completion was in 2016.

Astronomy Group (DAG) was founded in the year 2000 to encourage and promote the study of Astronomy and it is related fields in the Middle East region and beyond. Since its inception the group has grown in size and stature. Presently in its current capacity – it is a consultant and specialist in its field. The Dubai Astronomy Group enjoys a variety of relationships at senior government and private sector’s levels. The Group is involved in a number of high profile infrastructure and future tourism projects.
The aims of the group is to promote astronomy in the Middle East region and the world and to support and encourage new talents in astronomy. The team helps all discover, promote and archive Arab/Islamic astronomical heritage
and to participate locally and internationally in astronomical activities. Also to represent UAE astronomy nationally and internationally. To support education and knowledge through events from their library and to provide access to practical astronomy at their observing facilities.
They champion an open, global astronomy community with education and awareness as DAG promotes the study of astronomy and its related fields by means of all the astronomical events; outdoor observations according to the astronomy calendar. Educational activities such as lectures, conferences, talks and exhibitions.
DAG have invested in Education – Astronomy Club in School initiative in 2006 till now, 7 schools are actively participated and visioning astronomy clubs network on global scale. Full individual membership to the group is available to anyone who has an interest in astronomy. Current members include both professional, amateur and entry level astronomers based in the UAE and GCC countries. Membership derives a variety of benefits including; member only events, specialist courses, discounts and much more.
