Engage yourself in Al Marmoum camel racing, a cultural event typical of the Emirati way of life. Enjoy the traditional sport which is truly spectacular in every way and can boast of being one of the oldest in the region, camel racing.
Be a spectator and get familiar to a unique sporting environment with camel trainers, racing camels steered by robot jockeys. Children are not allowed to take part as jockeys and have been banned in Dubai since 2002.
The view from the large screen TV’s is provided to bring the racing scenario right from the racetrack. To enjoy camel races at Al Marmoun, viewers must take a set of binoculars and spend time at the Camel Market nearby to buy camel souvenirs that can be taken home as memories of this exceptional, traditional sporting experience.
The objective of this year’s racing season is to continue the traditional sport of camel racing. A series of races, Al Marmoum 2013/2014, is to encourage citizens of the UAE to know about the traditional customs and practices.
