The Dubai Autodrome
is the region's first fully integrated motorsports facility. The
complex, a part of the Union Properties Motorcity development, not
only includes an FIA sanctioned 5.39km circuit, which offers six
different configurations, but also incorporates a Race & Driving
school and a CIK approved Karting track.
Officially inaugurated in October 2004
when it hosted the final round of the FIA GT Championship, the Dubai
Autodrome is designed to accommodate all types of motosports events
from world class to local. This multi-purpose complex also serves
as an ideal setting for concerts and corporate events, whether conferences,
seminars, or motoring exhibitions.
Built to world-class standards, the
Dubai Autodrome offers manufacturers and racing teams a perfect
location for testing, prototype development, vehicle demonstrations,
product launches, driver training, and hot weather car research
for international manufacturers.

Dubai Autodrome, the region's first
fully integrated motor and motorsports facility, officially announced
today its calendar of international and national events/activities
for the period of September 2005 to May 2006. The calendar is intended
to provide the industry and racing fans with a detailed overview
of the race-related events taking place at the Autodrome.
Hereunder is an overview of events and
races:
International Racing
For the second consecutive year, Dubai Autodrome will host the 10th
round of the FIA GT Championship, from November 16th to 18th. In
December the sixth round of the newly launched championship A1 GP
will be held. January will see the first 24-hour car race event
in the Middle East (www.24hdubai.com / info@24hdubai.com) a race
for production based saloon and sports cars promoted by Dutch organization,
Creventic BV. The concept of the race will be similar to events
already successfully held in Europe, aimed at enthusiastic amateur
racers rather than professional teams/drivers. This event has already
been well received by competitors from Europe, Australia and closer
to home here in the Middle East. A bumper grid of cars is expected.
National Racing
Commencing in January 2006, there will be a program of regular race
events designed to start a national motor racing program in the
UAE. These will consist of events for the recently announced GTI
Cup, for standard specification latest model Volkswagen Golf GTI
cars specially prepared for racing, the UAE National Bike Championship
being organized by EMSF for production based 600 and 750 cc motorcycles
and the Gulf Radical Cup being coordinated by GulfSport the Middle
East importer of the extremely quick Radical sports racing cars.
Race School Championship
Dubai Autodrome also plans a race series championship for its own
purpose built, single-seat race cars currently being sourced for
the Race & Driving School and a series of races open to sports
and saloon cars generally, further details to be announced in due
course.
Marshals Training
Starting in September, Dubai Autodrome will organize training programs
for potential marshals. The training days are open to both experienced
marshals and those new to the sport. Details will shortly be released
to all persons who have previously expressed an interest. Any additional
interested parties should contact the Dubai Autodrome to be included
in the program.
Potential competitors
A meeting will be held for potential race competitors at the Dubai
Autodrome on July 22, 2005 to discuss the details of the training
