is Dubai’s new electronic toll collection system launched in July 2007.The toll

point at highway speeds.
How does Salik work: Salik system is a free flow tolling system

machine readable sticker on the car windscreen.
Motorists using toll gates on Garhoud Bridge and near Mall of the Emirates on
Shaikh Zayed must paste Salik tags on car windscreens. Motorists will not have
to stop to pay the toll. They will have to purchase pre-paid cards and the fix
machine-readable-stickers on the vehicle’s front windshield. Toll charges will be
deducted from their cards every time they pass under the electronic gates fitted
with scanners.
Once the toll gates are activated, Dh4 will be deducted from the credit every time
a motorist crosses a gate. In case you are not having a salik tag, you will be fined
Dh100 and if you pass through the toll gate without having enough credit in your
account, you will be fined Dh50.
