The Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group was established in 1996 mainly to support the first Dubai Shopping Festival. Since then, the Group has evolved to a prestigious trade body committed to developing and sustaining Dubai's status as the 'City of Gold'. With over 700 members, the Group represents all sectors of the trade, including bullion trade, manufacturing, wholesale and retail.

The next shopping festival will run from December 20, 2006, to February 2, 2007.
