The Professional Squash Association (PSA) – the global governing body responsible for the administration of professional squash around the world made an announcement that the outstanding season-ending World Series Finals will be staged in Downtown Dubai, with Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and The Dubai Fountain, the world’s tallest performing fountain, in the background.
The tournament will take place from 24 – 28 May in a state-of-the-art squash court and state-of-the-art spectator venue that is constructed in Burj Park, Downtown Dubai.
The top eight male and female squash players in the world will be there in Dubai next week all set for one of the toughest competitions of the year in the prominent season-ending PSA Dubai World Series Finals. The ‘PSA Dubai World Series Finals’ will take place in Dubai for the next three years and players competing in this prestigious event will have to get a ranking in the top eight for both men and women on the ‘PSA Road to Dubai Standings’. The PSA World Series 2015-2016 began in October last year and is taking place in seven locations around the world (including New York and Chicago) before reaching the climax of the international squash season in Dubai.
The 2016 Dubai PSA World Series Finals is a five-day squash extravaganza to determine who will lift the final title of the 2015/16 season, and claim one of the sport’s most lucrative prizes. Egyptian men’s World Number One, Mohamed El Shorbagy, French World Champion Gregory Gaultier, Malaysia’s eight-time female World Champion Nicol David and England’s World Number One Laura Massaro, plus many more, will be seen in Dubai for a spectacular and thrilling contest. A place in the semi-finals the players can win the prize purse of $160,000 on offer in both the Men’s and Women’s tournaments. The action will commence on Tuesday 24 May at 16:00, with eight best-of-three matches on each of the first three days, with every player playing once each day.
