The visiting Philippine Vice-President Jejomar C. Binay will attend various events of the Filipino community in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
Binay reached Abu Dhabi on Wednesday evening after his visit to Dubai.
He is expected to meet senior UAE officials on Thursday, Adelio Cruz, the Charge d' Affairs at Philippine Embassy told Gulf News on Wednesday.
His visit is important for the Filipino community because Binay is also the Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers' Concerns.
The vice president will visit the two Filipino schools in the capital on Thursday, he said.
"Then he will have meeting with the embassy officials who brief him about the well being of the Filipino workers in the UAE," Cruz said.
The vice president will address the Filipino community members at 21st Century Private Academy in Abu Dhabi at 7:30 pm. He is expected to interact with the community members in the event.
Binay will go back to Philippines on Friday morning.
The Vice-President was in Kuwait last week to represent President Benigno S. Aquino III in the 50th national day anniversary celebration of Kuwait.
