The Ivy to debut at Taste of Dubai 2011
  22 February 2011

The Ivy, the latest addition from Jumeirah Restaurants LLC, a division of Dubai-based luxury hospitality brand Jumeirah Group, will make its debut at this year's Taste of Dubai, the region's premier food and beverage festival.

To be held from 3-5 March at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, the fourth edition of Taste of Dubai is expected to attract over 14,000 visitors.

Set for launch at The Boulevard at Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Spring 2011, The Ivy, an internationally reputed and much loved restaurant brand, will showcase its many facets at Taste of Dubai 2011. Tim Hughes, Group Chef Director, and Fernando Peire, Director of The Ivy, will offer a glimpse of the culinary delights that will be served at the prestigious outlet.

At Taste of Dubai, Tim Hughes will demonstrate dishes from The Ivy's contemporary British and international menu such as chilled plum tomato soup with mozzarella and basil, aromatic duck salad with watermelon and chilli cashews, pan fried cod with clams and samphire, as well as Pavlova with mixed summer berries. Gastronomic enthusiasts will also have an opportunity to watch and glean culinary secrets.

The Ivy cookbook authored by AA Gill, highly-respected Sunday Times restaurant critic, will be on sale at the stand during Taste of Dubai 2011. Visitors can take a little piece of The Ivy home and try their hand at the iconic dishes. In anticipation of the opening of The Ivy at Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai, a special booth will be set up at the event for diners to pre-book their tables after the inaugural ceremony.

Fernando Peire, Director of The Ivy and The Club at The Ivy, will introduce the restaurant and key staff to Dubai's food enthusiasts at the event. A veteran, Fernando was instrumental in organising The Ivy's 20th anniversary celebrations in 2010, which included the performance of a specially-commissioned play by award-winning screenplay writer Sir Ronald Harwood. Titled 'Heavenly Ivy', the show ran for five consecutive nights at the London restaurant.

Of The Ivy's presence at Taste of Dubai 2011, Fernando said, "Taste of Dubai is a great platform for dedicated and aspiring food lovers to discover The Ivy ahead of its opening in the spring. They will have an opportunity to meet the executive team and gauge The Ivy experience first-hand."

The Ivy in Dubai will prove an ideal place for lunch, dinner or simply a drink at the bar. It will feature a private dining room hosting 16 for a more intimate dining experience. It will also offer a brasserie-style menu with a selection of Ivy classics such as its world famous shepherd's pie and Scandinavian iced berries with hot white chocolate sauce, as well as an innovative take on more contemporary dishes. The Ivy in Dubai will share the same standards of food, ambiance and service as The Ivy in London.
