Sania Mirza vs Akgul Amanmuradova Preview

Sania Mirza, India's best player on the women's tennis circuit, has a favorable first round match at this week's WTA Dubai event. Mirza will face Uzbekistan's Akgul Amanmuradova and while the two player's relative rankings imply that Mirza could be in trouble, really she looks good for the win.
Entering Dubai Amanmuradova is ranked 64th while Mirza is currently ranked 134th. However the low ranking for the Indian national is a reflection of the distracted year she had in 2010 and it is not indicative of her ability at this point in her career.
Mirza has faced Amanmuradova three times in the past and she, Mirza, has only dropped one set in those three matches. Even last season when she was not playing her best, Mirza was able to defeat Amanmuradova in straight sets at WTA Guangzhou.
