Dubai Outlet Mall, one of the fastest growing retail ventures in Dubai and known for its 'outlet' concept, is a strategic partner of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE) 2011 festivals, and an active participant of this year's Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF). Mohammad Khammas, CEO of Dubai Outlet Mall, talks about how the mall is attracting shoppers during the month-long festival and how far these initiatives have succeeded.
What is the aim behind Dubai Outlet Mall supporting DSF this year as well as other DEPE events during the year? What are some of the special elements introduced?
This year, along with the entertainment and colourful décor our customers get a chance to win prizes along with shopping. We are also conducting styling services in association with Manipal University's Department of Fashion and a Star Hunt competition which will give them additional exposure, benefits and chance to win more prizes.
How do you see DSF 2011 helping boost your sales this year? What kind of footfall increase are you expecting at your mall this DSF?
DSF is always a special time in Dubai for shopping, not only for residents but for tourists. Although Dubai Outlet Mall provides value every single day of the year, during DSF, the entire festive feel and additional offers by retailers add to this and provides a strong bargain feel. So far, we are experiencing a better DSF than last year and the numbers can be talked about by the end of the festival. The outlook looks positive.
What is the scale of discounts that are being offered at Dubai Outlet Mall? Do you plan to increase or decrease it over the next two years? If so, by what per cent?
Dubai Outlet Mall offers savings and bargains ranging from 30 to 90 per cent, every single day of the year.
What are the projected sales revenues this year? How do they compare to last year? What is your yearly growth rate?
Growth rates are subjective and what we can say is that we are doing well in these challenging times.
