Mohammed reflects on social customs at iftar for dignitaries

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, hosted an iftar banquet at the Atlantis Hotel in Palm Jumeirah on Tuesday for ministers, dignitaries and heads of government departments.
Sheikh Mohammed and his guests were in a traditional Ramadan setting reflecting the UAE's social customs. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler, were present.
Prior to breaking the fast, Sheikh Mohammed and the assembled guests took part in Al Maghreb prayers, calling on almighty God to protect the country and its leadership from all evil, thus enabling the nation to continue as a symbol of love and peace.
Also present at the event were Federal National Council Speaker Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Ghurair; President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum; Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Director General of Dubai Department of Information Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum; Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Director of Dubai Ruler's Court Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shebani and Commander General of Dubai Police Lt General Dahi Khalfan Tamim.
