Majid Bin Mohammed Youth Media Award Launches its Fourth Edition

The organizing committee of Majid Bin Mohammed Youth Media Award has announced the launch of its fourth edition of the award under its slogan "Create Your Opportunity". The award will also take in the applicants starting today the 14th of March up until the 30th of April. The judging committee of the award will then make the final decision.
On this occasion, H.H Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, declared that "The continuation of the award throughout these years is evidence that this award is considered a main reference for media that assists the youth to utilize their talents and acknowledge their skills in the media field. This process helps in enhancing their capability and gives them the opportunity to be launched, nurtured, and trained in the future through coordination with interested media sectors. therefore, the award plays a big part in creating the future media generation, raise their standards, and distinguishes those with exceptional talents and skills according to the market's needs".
The organizing committee of the award also announced that the judging committee's decision will be final and they will not rely on the public's votes. This is an attempt to ensure the credibility of the award and to give a complete chance to the contenders without relying on the public's voting decision. "This decision came as a result of multiple meetings with the past candidates to take in their opinions and suggestions and to ensure that it meets their needs and future prospects, since the award is rather flexible and aligns with the Emirati youth and media sector's needs. We also hope that we will receive high level candidates and raise the creativity value of the award's content, and we have complete faith in the youth on accomplishing that", stated Khadeeja Almarzooqi, head of organizing committee of the Majid Bin Mohammed Youth Media Award.
H.H Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has asked for the modification of the categories of the award. The Journalism, Video, Photojournalism, and Graphic Design categories to stay the same, while the Radio and Best TV Host Categories merge together to become Best TV/Radio Host category, as they are similar in skills and intent.
This emerges as a purpose to improve the performances through developing the categories and giving them a more focused definition and specification.
The judging committee, which includes experts in the media field, will then choose the final candidates of each of the five categories. Potential candidates will be able to apply and submit their work through the website www.sheikhmajidawards.com.
Furthermore, the list of names of the final candidates of the five categories will be announced after the final day of submission, the 30th of April. Sama Dubai Channel, the Media Partner of the award, will host a weekly episode that will cover the events of the award and its updates and weekly activities. And for the first time ever, the organizing committee of the award will announce the launch of the official Majid Bin Mohammed Youth Media Award E-Channel on YouTube' that will broadcast everything relating the award and will exclusively cover all the events.
In addition, the award committee will go on road shows around different universities in the country that will promote the award and its vision and goals, in an attempt to reach the highest number of youth Emiratis possible that are interested in taking part and participating in the award.
The Majid Bin Mohammed Youth Media Award aims to assist the new generation of young Emiratis and encourage them to benefit from their talents and better equip them to enter the media sector. Hence, developing, nurturing and transferring their skills to high performance levels that will eventually lead to supporting the local media sector with Emirati competencies.
