Dubai
exports and reexports to Iran increase 16 percent in 2005
Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry
said here Wednesday that the value of exports and reexports from
Dubai to Iran stood at at 22 billion Dirhams in the first three
quarters of 2005.
The figure is 16 percent higher compared
to the same period last year.
Iran absorbed over 31 percent of all
exports and reexports of Dubai in the said period, it said.
Also, Iran ranked first among Dubai's
trading partners in the first three quarters of 2005.
It added that the total exports and
reexports of Dubai stood at 56 billion Dirhams in the period.
Saudi Arabia with 1.6 billion Dirhams
ranked second among the Dubai trading partners, the report said.
Dubai reexports to Iran, which have
ranked first in reexports from the emirate in the past 10 years,
dropped in the 2004.
Textiles, transportation-related equipment,
electronic gadgets, fake jewelry, and precious stones are some of
reexports by Dubai, it added.
In 2004, Dubai had over 80 percent of
total non-oil foreign trade of United Arab Emirates.
The United States with 497,177,000 Dirhams
of non-oil imports from Dubai Emirate was ranked second in 2004.
According to unofficial reports, the
values of Iran's imports from Dubai were more than dlrs 4 billion
in 2002. |
