Watson Wyatt Dubai pushes communication in the Gulf

Identifying a need for effective communication to successfully implement HR programs, the firm now has a team of experienced communication professionals based in Dubai.

The firm has operated in the Gulf for the past 15 years and officially opened their Dubai office in January 2008.

Using a partnership approach with clients in both the public and private sector; the firm delivers world class human capital consultancy in all areas of HR, including strategic reward, organisational design and talent and performance management.

“Our ability to offer a service which brings together HR consulting expertise and specialist communication in one place, makes us unique in the region and enables us to exceed the demands of our clients,”says General Manager, Dr. Ahmad Waarie.

Increasingly, employers are appreciating the vital role that internal communication plays. This is particularly true when managing employee anxiety during an economic downturn.

“Communication is a powerful tool in troubled times, especially when supported by different levels of management,” says Kathryn Yates, Global Director of communication consulting at Watson Wyatt.

The team applies leading edge communication techniques to increase impact and employee engagement where HR programs are concerned, using a wide range of media tools. Watson Wyatt's global Communication ROI Study has repeatedly shown a positive correlation between strong internal communication and an organisation's financial performance.

The last survey, published in 2008 showed that firms with effective communications can achieve an increase in market value of 15.7%. The study also reveals the 'secrets of top performers' by identifying the best practices needed to effectively communicate to employees. The communication team will include Middle East based organisations in the survey for the first time 2009.
