Venus victorious in Acapulco |

Top-seeded Venus Williams breezed into the second round at the $220,000 Mexican Open, scoring a 6-2, 6-3 win over France's Mathilde Johansson.
The former world No. 1 Williams, fresh off her title in Dubai last week, beat Italian Flavia Pennetta in last year's Acapulco finale.
Third-seeded Argentine Gisela Dulko held off Czech qualifier Lucie Hradecka 6-1, 2-6, 6-1, while fifth-seeded Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro double-bageled Hungarian qualifier Greta Arn 6-0, 6-0, on the red clay at The Fairmont Acapulco Princess.
Seventh-seeded Italian Roberta Vinci came back to beat Spaniard Arantxa Parra Santonja 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Day 2.
Additional wins came for Estonian Kaia Kanepi, Romanian Edina Gallovits, Ukrainian Mariya Koryttseva, Spain's Laura Pous Tio and Colombia's Catalina Castano.
Kanepi next faces Williams.
The 2010 Acapulco winner will pocket $37,000.
