Students who appeared for the Kerala Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or Grade X in March this year have set an all time record with a 92.09 per cent pass in the second completely graded examinations.
However nine students from a school in Umm Al Quwain have not received their marks for a language paper, leaving them extremely disappointed and upset. Many were in tears when they found they hadn’t been marked.
The grades of four girls and five boys from The English School, UAQ, have been left blank instead of being marked for the Hindi paper. Elizabeth Cherian, principal of the school, expressed disappointment and anger at the officials for the faux pas.
She said, “ I am extremely disappointed with the Pariksha Bhavan officials for this mistake. This has been a rather irresponsible act on their part. All nine of them are brilliant students and have managed A+ in all other subjects. When I called up the board this morning, I was told at least 120 students were facing the same problem.”
Cherian added, “ I was told they would get their results in a week’s time. The students were so upset. Many were even crying when they realised they hadn’t been marked.”
