Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital (DSFH) selects Soarian MedSuite Health
Information Solution from Siemens

Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital (DSFH) and Siemens have signed the first
partnership agreement for the advanced and complete healthcare IT systems
syngo Suite (RIS/PACS) and Soarian MedSuite Hospital Information System
(HIS) in Saudi Arabia. The solutions will connect the hospital's
clinical-administrative workflow with the diagnostic-therapeutic processes
in radiology. This will allow DSFH to easily manage administrative and
clinical processes and drive towards increased efficiency, productivity, and
quality of care across the healthcare continuum. Siemens will also provide
comprehensive service for several years.

With 800 beds, Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital is the largest private hospital
in Saudi Arabia. A pioneer in the development of the Private Medical Sector
in the country, the clinic is among the most distinguished hospitals in the
Middle East. The Soarian MedSuite HIS will enable DSFH to re-engineer
processes throughout the entire hospital to help drive organisational
efficiencies, ensure patient safety and enhance clinical decision-making.

The Radiology Information System/Picture Archiving and Communication System
(RIS/PACS) syngo Suite is responsible for the diagnostic and therapeutic
cycles. It supports the procedure-driven workflow in radiology, from order
to distribution, in areas such as diagnostic imaging, cardiovascular therapy
and radiation therapy. The detailed data generated and administered through
the interaction of the modalities with syngo provides a solid basis for
diagnostic and therapeutic security. This data becomes a part of the
overall, enterprise-wide solution.

Used in combination, Soarian MedSuite and syngo are an ideal match: prior to
a diagnostic examination, Soarian MedSuite supplies the radiology suite with
all relevant patient data. Soarian MedSuite maintains pointers to the
images and incorporates the text report in the patient record. This helps
to ensure a smooth data flow across the entire clinical treatment continuum,
providing the physicians with a comprehensive information base.

"Soarian MedSuite is the first HIS product that can support the unique
requirements of Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital, which was searching for a
complete healthcare IT solution that offers comprehensive functionality with
ease of use at the right price", explained Dr. Mazin S. Fakeeh, Deputy
Director General, Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. "After evaluating leading
healthcare IT solutions for RIS/PACS and HIS, we looked for something that
would require fewer IT resources and less manpower for operation - what we
found in the combination of Siemens Soarian MedSuite and syngo Suite. Given
our goals of continuously improving our already high quality of care and to
provide this care in a more efficient manner, we believe this can best be
achieved through our partnership with Siemens."

Robert Cohen, Vice President and General Manager of Soarian MedSuite stated,
"Soarian MedSuite's ground breaking technology also allows us to support
multiple languages, including dynamically switching from "left to right and
right to left" as well as dynamic conversion between Hijri and Gregorian
Calendars. The workflow functionality will support process improvement in
all clinical and administrative areas."

Long standing cooperation
In 1978 Dr. Soliman Fakeeh founded this hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
In October 1986 the hospital expanded and opened new centres, such as Open
Heart Surgery, Neurosurgery and Neurology, Renal Services and Infertility
Centre. The latest phase of its development resulted in the finest
Paediatric Hospital, together with a revolutionary Health Promotion and
Plastic Surgery Centre. A partner of DSFH since 1986, Siemens has already
provided the hospital with several imaging systems including an Axiom Artis
dBC x-ray system and a Magnetom Symphony magnetic resonance tomograph.

"As a consequence of this long standing cooperation, Dr. Soliman Fakeeh
Hospital has chosen Siemens to provide the hospital also with the advanced
IT solutions syngo Suite and Soarian MedSuite. DSFH will differentiate
itself by being the first healthcare provider in the

region to install this comprehensive IT solution", stated Klaus Helmreich,
Vice President & General Manager, Siemens Limited, Saudi Arabia. He added,
"We believe that Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital is one of the most advanced and
experienced private hospitals in the Middle East. DSFH strives for
continuous improvement and enhancement of service by means of workflow
optimisation and quick return on investment."

"Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital is proud of being one of the premier private
healthcare providers in the Middle East. We take pride in maintaining a
vigorous technical infrastructure for our operations which helps us provide
high-level service that our patients can rely on. Siemens is our strong
partner behind this", said Ammar S. Fakeeh, Chief of Executive Division, Dr.
Soliman Fakeeh Hospital.

Background: Saudi Arabia
The high quality of healthcare in Saudi Arabia is one of the country's major
achievements in recent years. Siemens, with its longstanding local presence
and extensive range of products and services, is proud to be contributing to
this success. The next challenge in the healthcare industry is the
integration of digital picture archiving systems into PACS management
networks. Where the necessary infrastructure exists, telemedicine is
expected to be a growing field. Siemens has gathered extensive expertise in
this field from many projects worldwide. With several successful
installations already in place, Siemens can harness this know-how in Saudi
Arabia.
