STME implements enterprise data storage solution at SHUAA Capital |

 STME, the Middle East’s leading enterprise storage solution provider and integrator, has announced the successful implementation of a data storage and replication solution based on iSCSI SAN technology for SHUAA Capital. The solution is expected to increase performance and lower the costs of managing information in a high-growth IT infrastructure.
The best-of-breed storage strategy pursued by SHUAA Capital brings a number of significant business benefits to the financial and investment banking institution. These include the consolidation of vital company information, automation of data backup, less room for human error, and the need for fewer resources to manage more of SHUAA Capital’s data. STME’s involvement extended to an assessment of requirements, initial scoping, solution design, implementation, and on-going support. The company was able to bring a high level of expertise to the execution of the project owing to the fact that STME engineers are solution design experts in NetApp technology. Moreover, STME, in its capacity as a NetApp Registered Service Partner, was also able to offer targeted support services through the transition and beyond.Jocelyn Al Adwani, CTO, STME said, “In addition to addressing the need for a durable solution that could handle extended periods of high traffic while maintaining high availability and security, the functionality of the final solution meant that it tackled different business needs and enabled SHUAA Capital to enjoy a host of short-term and long-term benefits including backup, availability, and rapid recovery times.”
STME’s solution brought both immediate and long-term benefits for SHUAA Capital. In the short term adoption of this solution resulted in storage consolidation for three sites in the UAE and facilitated data replication from two production sites to a stand-by site. Potential benefits of the solution also include quick recovery from local or site-wide disasters; ease in implementing Information Lifecycle Management policy; and better integration with existing data backup practices.

This solution from STME was able to address both requirements, and added better availability and data management in the process.
