Dubai: A greater choice will become available to automobile buyers next year when AW Rostamani Group brings two new car brands to the UAE.
"The brands will be launched under a new company and will be announced by the end of this year," Michel Ayat, chief executive of Arabian Automobiles Company (ACC), told Gulf News yesterday.
The company, under the AW Rostamani Group, is the exclusive dealer for Nissan, Infinity and Renault in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
"This is part of our expansion and shows the confidence we have in this market," Ayat said.
He refused to disclose the brands or the manufacturing country.
The dealer company recently stepped out of its home base and entered Iraq's automobile sales scene. It launched its first showroom last month, located in the northern region of Iraq.
Ayat said that the company's plan to roll out a series of showrooms and service centres in Iraq is still on track, despite the impact of the liquidity crisis that has hit the sales of all automobile brands in the UAE.
Overall, there will be a network of 18 dealerships to cover the market. Each will be a sales, service and spare-parts centre.
Its second showroom is currently under construction in Baghdad and will be operational in November.
"We are investing in Nissan outside our territory. We're talking about a very big market, where you have to have the right network of dealerships and showrooms. AAC's vision is to continue to invest," said Ayat.
The company, not the sole distributor for Nissan in Iraq, will be competing with other dealers in the country.
AW Rostamani Group comprises a range of companies dealing in real estate, automobile sales and leasing, building materials, logistics, information technology and a few other industries.
