(RTTNews) - State-run power transmission utility, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), would be raising around Rs.2,500 crore via issue of bonds by October-November this year to fund its various projects, reported the PTI. Quoting PGCIL Chairman and Managing Director S K Chaturvedi, the report added that the company might raise additional funds through another bond issue for the same amount by the end of the fiscal.
Chaturvedi said that the company has proposed for an underground sea-link between India and Sri Lanka and the memorandum of understanding for the same is to be inked. It is also working on overseas projects in Dubai, Nigeria and Bhutan and is in talks for a project in Myanmar. He added that the company has completed a power transmission project in Afghanistan, and would hand over the project to the country's new government.
